Braga vs FC Porto Preview, Betting Tips and Odds.

Braga vs FC Porto predictions for Saturday’s match in the Primeira Liga.

Braga go in search of their 3rd win over Porto this season
Braga lost 1-0 away at Tondela last time out and will have to put in a much better performance on Saturday if they are to pinch 3rd place in the table this season. Porto thrashed Moreirense 6-1 at home on Monday night and have won their last six league games, but will have one eye on the upcoming Taca de Portugal final against Benfica next week.

Braga has already beaten Porto twice this season, 1-0 at home in the Taca da Liga and 2-1 away in the league, so the hosts will be confident of securing the result they need to stand any chance of finishing 3rd in the table. However, Porto head into the duo’s latest encounters as the clear form favourites with six wins from their last six matches, as Braga have lost two, drawn one and won three times during that same period of matches.

Porto has one eye on the upcoming Taca de Portugal final
Our prediction for both teams to score on Saturday is backed up by plenty of statistics. Both teams have scored in four of the last seven meetings between these two clubs, as well as in four of Braga’s last six outings in the Primeira Liga. Both teams have also scored in 56% of the hosts’ home matches and 56% of the visitors’ away trips this season, so you can see why we’re backing both teams to score this weekend.

In terms of a final scoreline, we’re predicting a 2-1 win for Braga as the hosts have won their last two games against Porto. Four of the lasts even encounters between the pair have produced over 2.5 goals, as have four of both clubs last six matches in the Primeira Liga. Braga score an average of 1.88 goals per home game and concede an average of 1.19 goals, which ties in nicely with our prediction for a 2-1 home win on Saturday.

Nothing but a win will do for the hosts this weekend
Braga has much more to play for on the final day of the season, as they know that only a win will give them a chance of finishing 3rd in the table ahead of Sporting CP.

However, Porto are in fine form and will be hoping to maintain their momentum heading into the Taca de Portugal final against Benfica next weekend but might decide to rest a few of their key players ahead of what is undoubtedly a more important match.

Braga is expected to take the game to their guests and with two wins against the champions already this season, we’re predicting a win for the hosts in their final game of the campaign.
