Check out the amount Liverpool earned from winning the premier league title

Liverpool's earner from winning the Premier League title WAS to far outstrip the cash raked in by last season's winners Manchester City.

Football finance expert Swiss Ramble reports as champions, Liverpool were initially in line to take home around £175m in total prize money.

Last season, Manchester City won £38.4m in merit payments for coming first, plus a combination of other payouts taking their total up to just over £150m.

This season the projected total came just shy of £175m - but now the rebate agreed by the Premier League to partially reimburse domestic and international broadcasters must be factored in too.

The final figures are to be fully confirmed, but repayments are expected to be weighted depending on where a team has finished.

An estimate sees Liverpool potentially having to pay back £21.5m in TV money, whereas recent reports in the national press have suggested a slightly higher figure of £24.5m.

Taking the rebate into account, Liverpool's total Premier League prize money could turn out to be around the £150m / 155m mark.
