Dortmund further add fuel to Sancho to Man United rumours with latest comments

Borussia Dortmund has further suggested Jadon Sancho is on his way out of the club after they admitted they are preparing for that possibility.

The England star, valued by Dortmund at £100million, has been linked with a move to Manchester United and other leading clubs.

And Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc says the Bundesliga club have a contingency plan in place should Sancho depart Signal Iduna Park.

‘If Jadon left, we would do something again in the offensive area,’ Zorc told Kicker.

‘There are certainly one or two players we are targeting.’

Reports in Germany this week suggested that Dortmund have set United a deadline of August 10 to decide whether they want to sign Sancho and make an offer.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made clear that United will have to ensure they are getting value for money with their summer acquisitions as the financial impact of Covid-19 becomes clear.

Sancho has scored 20 goals and contributed 20 assists in all competitions during another impressive season for Dortmund, who finished second in the Bundesliga.

Dortmund’s chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke is also realistic about the state of the transfer market should they sell Sancho this summer.

He told Kicker: ‘When you don’t have a billionaire or a state backing you up, then you need to be careful how you invest your money.

‘We don’t have an end date for corona, without that we simply have no planning security.

‘Should we sell Sancho, then every player will cost 5-10million euros more. We have nothing to give away.’
