Guardiola has congratulated Klopp on his achievement after winning EPL title

Guardiola has congratulated Klopp on his achievement after Liverpool beat Man City to end their 30-year wait for a English top-flight title.

The Spaniard has hailed the Reds boss as an 'exceptional person' and an 'exceptional manager'.

The two managerial powerhouses went head-to-head during their days in Germany at Bayern Munich and Dortmund.

He says that he enjoyed competing with Klopp back then and is confident that the German is tailor-made for success in any league.

“Klopp is an exceptional person, I like to be his colleague, and to compete with him and against him. I think he is an exceptional manager,” Guardiola told beIN Sport via The Mirror.

"He showed it in Germany and now in England, and wherever he will be he will have success.”

Liverpool are currently making all the headlines after ending their 30-year drought for a first domestic league title in English football, thanks to Klopp's charismatic stewardship and the team's unwavering consistency.

Klopp failed to beat Guardiola's Bayern Munich to the Bundesliga title during his managerial days at Borussia Dortmund but he has now managed to get one over his colleague in the Premier League.

And the Reds faithful will be hoping that the German continues to outsmart his counterpart on the pitch for the foreseeable future as Liverpool bid to consolidate on their newly-found glory.
