Inter Milan confirms contract talks with Lautaro Martinez

Inter's CEO Giuseppe Marotta reveals the club are currently discussing contract renewals with the young stars.

He adds there is a rapport of trust in the negotiations.

"We are discussing contract renewals with many players, above all the younger ones who we want to work with for a long time, and that includes Lautaro," Inter's CEO Giuseppe Marotta told Sky Sport Italia on Wednesday night.

He added: "We're doing it calmly, without rush, as there is a rapport of trust. He is happy to wear this jersey and at the opportune moment we will evaluate his future."

The 22-year-old has a contract with the Italian club until 2023 yet the Nerazzurri are reportedly planning to double his salary up to €5m per year in order to fend off Barca's interest.

Lautaro has long been on Barca's radar but the most recent report suggests the clubs are unlikely to start transfer talks before the end of the current campaign next month.
