Lampard explains reason Pulisic didn't start in Liverpool Game

Chelsea boss Lampard felt it was a risk to field  Pulisic from the start because of the small injury he got ahead of United clash and was pleased with Pulisic's individual performance against the Reds.

There had been rumours that Christian Pulisic would be available for Liverpool clash but unfortunately for the Blues Frank decided no to risk playing him when he's not fully fit.

"Christian would have stayed in the team but he had a small injury in his thigh that kept him out against Manchester United," the boss explained.

"Today I felt it was a risk to play him for 90 minutes given we have two huge games coming up. ‘

"So as I say disappointed I haven’t been able to start him in the last two games but we’ve got them coming up."

When asked to describe the 21-year-old's impact on Chelsea's game, Lampard said: "Fantastic.

"When he came on he looked great so I’m really pleased with that in terms of his individual performance. We’ve since that since the restart when he’s been fit and firing he’s looked some player.

"He's so young, he has such natural talent. He scores goals, he creates goals and he is a big player for us. Delighted to see him come through fit. Clearly he will be a big player for us in these next few games but going forward as well."

The Blues fans are no less disappointed as the American was the brightest spot in Chelsea's squad against Liverpool. His assist to Abraham was mad while his energy and determination casted a doubt on Lampard's decision to play it safe in terms of his fitness.
