Lampard wants Chilwell but no agreement yet between clubs
The reliable journalist tweeted that Lampard wants to bring the Leicester City full-back to Stamford Bridge but he has backup options in mind too.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Ben Chilwell is very much on Frank Lampard's transfer wish-list.
However, Chelsea and Leicester City are yet to agree on any deal for the left-back's transfer.
The Foxes' head coach Brendan Rodgers recently said that Chilwell is not up for sale.
Leicester are asking for at least £50 million for the defender and that's not something that Chelsea would like to pay.
Romano adds that the manager and the Blues have backup options in mind - most likely referring to Nicolas Tagliafico of Ajax, who would be available for cheaper.
Mert Cetin will join Hellas Verona from AS Roma. Loan + buy option for Hellas but Roma will keep a buy back clause for €15M. He has never considered to come back in Turkey. 🇹🇷 @SkySport #transfers https://t.co/ciSRW5Sagx— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 19, 2020
