Leganes vs Real Madrid Preview, Betting Tips and Odds

Leganes set for La Liga relegation
Real Madrid won their first La Liga title since 2017 on Thursday after beating Villarreal the same night that Barcelona lost 2-1 at home to Osasuna.

Zinedine Zidane’s men have taken 86 points from their 37 league assignments and travel to relegation-threatened Leganes on the final day of the season.

The incentive is with the Cucumber Growers, who can secure their top-flight status for another season should they beat Real Madrid and Celta Vigo fail to beat Espanyol.

But even though Real Madrid have little to play for in their final game, Zidane will be eager for his side to extend their ten-match winning run in La Liga as they look to their Champions League last 16 second leg with Manchester City next month.

Real Madrid can show why they are champions
It is difficult to ignore the gulf in class between the teams and Real Madrid should be expected to run out comfortable winners.

Leganes have been shot-shy all season, managing a miserly 28 goals in their 37 league contests and that does not bode well for them as they prepare to face the league’s tightest defence.

Real Madrid have conceded only 23 goals all season and have kept a league-high 19 clean sheets – that’s two more than an Atletico Madrid team renowned for their watertight rearguard.

With that in mind, the best match prediction for the clash at Butarque could be a Real Madrid win to nil.

Since the league’s resumption Real Madrid have won without conceding against Valencia, Mallorca, Espanyol, Getafe, Athletic Bilbao and Alaves, and Leganes could be added to that list.

Leganes struggle in attacking third
Oscar is their top scorer with only nine league goals with the now-departed Martin Braithwaite, who joined Barcelona in January, next on their list of top scorers in 2019/20 with eight strikes.

They have enjoyed a slight resurgence of late, beating Espanyol, Valencia and Athletic Bilbao in three of their last four matches but Real Madrid represent a step-up in quality.

They will be fighting for their lives but Real Madrid can prove why they are champions of Spain and in terms of a correct score, 2-0, a score Madrid have won by five times this term, could be the way to go.
