Leverkusen To Chelsea: won't sell Havertz before Europa League conclusion

Bayer Leverkusen director and German football legend Rudi Voller has confirmed that there is no prospect of the Bundesliga outfit attempting to cash in on Kai Havertz before the conclusion of the club's Europa League campaign towards the end of August.

"It is set in stone," Voller fired when asked by Kicker whether Havertz would line up for the club in the Europa League. "There is no new stance."

Havertz remains a top target for Chelsea in the ongoing summer window and recent reports have suggested that the 21-year-old wants to complete his move to Stamford Bridge by next week.

German top-tier journalist Christian Falk recently mentioned that 'negotiations are getting hot' between Chelsea and Leverkusen after the Blues secured a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Bayer are supposedly demanding a fee close to £90m for their prized asset and while Chelsea want to settle for £70m plus add-ons, a compromise is likely to be reached in the coming months.

However, if Voller's warning is anything to go by, then Chelsea might need to wait until late next month to get a deal over the line for Havertz, with the Europa League final scheduled to be played on August 21
