Manchester United are only interested in cashing on Smalling and Alexis not loan

Manchester United are insisting on cash sales for on-loan pair Chris Smalling and Alexis Sanchez.

Sky Sports says Manchester United will not extend Sanchez and Smalling's respective loan spells at Inter Milan and Roma.

Smalling, 30, has impressed in his loan stint at the Stadio Olimpico while Chilean forward Sanchez has spent the season with the Nerazzurri, with some uncertainty as to whether Inter would pursue a permanent deal.

It was believed Roma would try to negotiate another loan deal for the 2020/21 season but the report claims United are only interested in a permanent transfer.

This is also the case with Sanchez.
