Napoli vs AC Milan Team news, Betting Tips and Odds

Napoli vs AC Milan predictions as these two sides clash in Serie A on Sunday night. Both sides have jumped up the form table, but who will win their clash.

Familiar Face for Milan
This will be the 144th Serie A meeting between Napoli and AC Milan: the Rossoneri lead the head-to-head by 54 wins to 42, with 47 draws. They’ll be out to extend that here, although it’s hard to say they are the form side even after picking up 13 points from five games. Napoli is looking strong themselves, setting this clash up perfectly.

Recently, the hosts have had the edge. Napoli has won their last three games at the San Paolo against AC Milan, having finished far clear of them in recent seasons. However, they’ve never won four in a row at home against the Rossoneri. Could they finally pull that off with former Milan great Gennaro Gattuso in charge of the Partenopei?

Battle of the form sides
These two sides had disappointing campaigns for much of the season, but since June they’ve had little to complain about. Napoli returned to action by lifting the Coppa Italia, edging out Inter and Juventus in the process. Meanwhile, Milan has hammered the league’s top two in the past week, winning 3-0 at Lazio then 4-2 against Juve. They now sit in seventh and sixth respectively, each hoping to pip Roma into fifth before the season is out.

The pair are in inspired form in attack, which makes this clash even more appealing. AC Milan has scored at least two goals in each of their last five Serie A matches and could score 2+ goals in six in a row for the first time since January 2012. They have plenty of threat going forward, while they will look to take advantage of a Napoli side who have conceded in each of their last nine at home.

Expect goals in Naples
While the hosts are conceding, they are in fine form going forward to make up for it. They’ve notched twice in six of their last seven games, along with each of their last five at home. Milan has scored 15 goals in five games, with over 2.5 goals landing in four of them. Given that there have been at least three goals in 67% of Napoli’s home games, over 2.5 goals is our first prediction here. We are also backing Milan to add another scalp to their collection after wins over the top two, with a 2-1 victory for the Rossoneri our correct score pick.

Ante Rebic is the first AC Milan player to score 10 goals in the second half of a league season since Carlos Bacca (10 in 2015/16) while the last player to score more for the club was Mario Balotelli in 2012/13 (12). Rebic has found the net in nine of his last 11 Serie A matches, scoring 10 goals during that spell. He found the net in the victories over Juventus and Lazio and we’re tipping him in our anytime goalscorer prediction.
