Riqui Puig Set 2 New Barcelona Records with Superb Alaves Display

Barcelona young star Riqui Puig enjoyed breaking two records with his impressive performance in Barcelona's 5-0 rout of Alaves last night.

While he didn't get on the scoresheet, the midfielder produced an impressive three assists.

No Barça player other than Leo Messi had managed to generate three clear scoring chances in the last two years. The last time a Barca player, Messi aside had achieved something similar was in April 2018, when Luis Suárez generated five clear chances against Deportivo La Coruña.

Puig also broke a record that Thiago Alcántara had established in 2011. Since then, no Barça player so young had managed to create two assists in a Liga game, something that Puig also surpassed against Alavés.
