Roma vs Inter Milan Preview, Betting Tips and Odds

Roma vs Inter Milan predictions ahead of this Serie A clash on Sunday.

Title thrills and goals galore
Inter Milan approach this clash with a hint of a title race in the air. The Nerazzurri play before Juventus this week, with the opportunity here to move within three points of the leaders. While they have a tough challenge in this trip, Antonio Conte could prove a big point in this clash by hauling them back into contention.

In case that isn’t enough to get you excited about this one, there’s likely to be plenty of goals between these two. There have been 499 goals in Serie A meetings between Inter and Roma, and it could become the first fixture to reach 500 goals in the competition. With both sides looking good going forward, we’re backing it to comfortably top 500 in our predictions.

Roma stepping up but have elite concerns
The hosts have pulled off three straight wins in Serie A to ease any pressure after a poor run, but could that return to form be temporary? Roma have beaten Verona, Parma and Brescia in those games, sides who are 14th, 17th and 18th in the form table respectively. Meanwhile, Inter are second over the course of the last eight games.

The Giallorossi have lost twice and drawn once at home to the top four this season, conceding five goals in those three games. They’ll hope to threaten Inter here having averaged 1.8 goals per home game, while their record against the Nerazzurri is excellent. Roma have scored 222 goals against Inter, their favourite target in the competition.

Inter in fine form on the road
This looks like a good chance for the Nerazzurri to close the gap on Juventus. Inter have won 72 games against Roma – more than against any other Serie A opponent. Meanwhile, Conte’s men have shaped up well on the road so far this season. No side has claimed more points from their first 16 away games than Inter, with the visitors winning 11 and scoring 34 goals in that time.

Having hit over two goals per game on the road, Inter have seen plenty of high scoring clashes. Over 2.5 goals has landed in 69% of their trips and in nine of their 11 away wins. We expect that to continue against a Roma side who have seen over 2.5 goals in 10 of their last 12 Serie A matches. On top of that, the Giallorossi have scored in 82% of their home games and kept just two clean sheets, so over 2.5 goals and both teams to score is our first tip.

Roma’s poor record against the top sides should see Inter continue their good away form. With 11 wins from 14 against sides outside the top four, we’re backing the Nerazzurri to pull off another away victory. They’ve already won 2-1 on four occasions on the road, so an away win by the same scoreline is our correct score prediction.
