Sandro Rosell: 'Barca must depart from politics'

Barcelona Ex-president Rosell claims there are political and media powers that want to take over the club.

He also urged the Blaugrana to stay out of politics but hold on to Catalanism.

Sandro Rosell told El Mundo: "Barcelona must depart from politics, although not from Catalanism.

"But there are political and media powers that want to take over the club, and they are always activated before the electoral horizon [next year]."

The Blaugrana are set to hold their next presidential elections next year. Although the precise date isn't known yet, it'll likely be in the summer.

Joan Laporta and Victor Font are among the names reported to be gearing up to contest.
