Source: Arsenal waiting for Atletico Madrid midfielder Partey to decide on his future

According to Fabrizio Romano, a tier 1 source when it comes to rumours, Arsenal keep monitoring the situation with Thomas Partey, who is heavily linked with a move to the Emirates in the summer.

He says the 27-year-old is holding contract talks with Atletico Madrid as Arsenal awe waiting for his decision over the future.



The situation with the Ghanaian remains uncertain.

According to Spanish transfer expert Guillem Balague, the La Liga outfit are ready to cash in on Partey if an offer of £44.5m, which would match his release clause, arrives.

At the same time, The Athletic's David Ornstein says Arsenal's hierarchy are hoping to lower Atletico's financial demands for the central midfielder.

However, Madrid-based newspaper Diario AS reports, that Atletico have tabled a contract extension proposal to the 27-year-old. They are looking to triple his current £65,000-a-week wages to convince him to stay.
