Torino vs Roma prediction Preview and Odds

Torino vs Roma predictions as Roma continue their push to wrap up a top-five finish in Serie A when they meet Torino in midweek

Roma can boost 20/21 campaign
There’s nothing left for Roma to achieve in Serie A this season, with the top four now beyond them. While the Giallorossi is now safely into next season’s Europa League, they can make things much easier for themselves with a victory in this midweek encounter with Torino.

Roma is currently in fifth, which will grant them automatic passage to the Europa League group stage next season. However, the Giallorossi face Torino’s rivals Juventus in their final game of the season, so their four-point lead over AC Milan in sixth could quickly go. As a result, Roma are playing to avoid starting off in September’s early start in the Europa League qualifiers.

Torino stumble over the line
Like the visitors, Torino has little left to worry about for this season. They have moved seven points clear of the drop zone with two games left to play, so the Granata are safe from the drop for the current season at least. However, they booked their survival with a limp 1-1 draw with bottom side SPAL, hardly a golden moment for the hosts.

That’s just continued a lame crawl towards safety for the hosts this season. They made a slow start, while their managerial change certainly hasn’t worked. Since Moreno Longo’s appointment back in February, Torino have collected only 12 points – only Cagliari, Brescia and SPAL have a worse record in this period. Things are likely to get worse for the Granata in this clash.

Roma to continue goal glut
The visitors come into this game in great shape, winning five of their last six matches. They’ve scored at least twice in each of those games, scoring 17 times in total. Their winning run should continue here, given that they have a great record against Torino over the years.

Roma has won 63 games against Torino in Serie A – more than against any other opponent. But the Granata have scored 186 goals against the Giallorossi, their favourite target in the top-flight. They’ve scored in their last seven home games, but even extending that run is unlikely to stop this high scoring Roma outfit. As a result, our first prediction is Roma to win and over 2.5 goals to be scored, having landed in the Giallorossi’s last seven games.

On top of that, we’re backing a 2-1 victory for Roma as our correct score prediction. Torino has already lost by that scoreline on three occasions at home this term, while seven of their 11 league defeats have come by a single goal.
