Udinese vs Juventus Preview, Betting Tips and Odds

Udinese vs Juventus predictions ahead of this Serie A clash on Thursday.

Juve head for the finish line
After their 2-1 victory against Lazio on Monday, Juventus are closing in on the title. After a round of games which could have seen three sides move within five points of them, the champions were the only side to win in the top four. That has saw Maurizio Sarri’s move eight points clear with four games to play, so they’ve all but won another title.

Another three points have put Juve on the brink of more silverware, so it’s lucky for them that they’ve got an easy fixture in prospect this week. Udinese has lost 62 games and conceded 191 goals in Serie A against Juventus – more than against any other opponent. Our predictions point to that continuing this weekend.

Ronaldo chases more glory
The visitors will expect to pile in the goals, given their great start and good form against Udinese. Striker Paulo Dybala has already scored seven goals and provided six assists against Udinese in Serie A – he has not been involved in more goals against any other opponent in the competition. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored in both meetings with Udinese since arriving in Italy, hitting three goals in those two games.

Both Dybala and Ronaldo have been in fine form since returning, with the Portuguese grabbing another two goals on Monday. Ronaldo is only one goal away from equalling Felice Borel (31 goals in 1933/34) to become the highest scorer in a single Serie A campaign in Juventus’ history. He’s level with Ciro Immobile in the scoring charts, but no one can match his form of late. Having scored in 18 of his last 20 Serie A appearances, Ronaldo has gone to another level in terms of Serie A forwards. With Udinese vulnerable, Ronaldo is our anytime goalscorer prediction.

Champions to put on a show
Juventus are unbeaten in their last eight games against Udinese in Serie A (W7 D1) and have scored an average of three goals per game in the process. Given how they are playing, this clash should go the same way. The visitors have scored 10 times in their four away trips since returning to action, while they’ve plundered 21 goals across their last six encounters with the Zebrette alone.

However, the one issue for the visitors is their defence. Juventus have conceded 36 goals after the first 34 games of the season – their worst record since 2010/11, when they finished 7th in the league and ultimately conceded 47 goals. Juve has seen both teams score in 76% of their trips, so we expect this to be a high scoring game. With 10 of Juve’s last 11 away trips seeing over 2.5 goals, we are backing an away win and at least three goals to be scored.

Udinese have seen four of their six home defeats come by two goals or more. We expect the champions to round out a two-goal margin given their form and great record against the hosts. We’re going with a 3-1 victory for the champions as our correct score prediction.
