West Bromwich Albion vs Fulham Preview, Betting Tips and Odds

West Bromwich Albion vs Fulham predictions ahead of this Championship clash on Tuesday.

Promotion battle at the Hawthorns
With only three games to go the fight for promotion to the Premier League is going down to the wire. West Brom is still on course for the top flight, while the Cottagers are harbouring outside hopes of making the top two. They need to win this clash to have any chance of making it into second-place, but defeat could be disastrous for the Baggies.

This is an encounter which Brentford will be watching intently, as the Bees are within three points of the second. A Fulham win might not put the Cottagers into the Premier League, but it would allow Brentford the chance to move second and set up a nervy run-in for all three teams. Can Scott Parker’s men blow the promotion campaign wide open with a victory in this trip?

Fulham stepping up
After starting with back-to-back defeats, the Cottagers have turned their form around with four wins on the spin. They had to pick up the first three of those without forwarding Aleksander Mitrovic, who was missing through suspension. He slotted back into the side at the weekend, scoring in Friday’s 2-0 win over Cardiff. Now they are aiming to follow that up by securing three points at the Hawthorns.

The visitors have a chance given their strong away record, having lost once in their last 10 away trips. They’ve won consecutive matches on the road, while they’ve avoided defeat in 16 of 21 away matches this season. Given that the Championship has seen a skew towards away sides since the restart, they can continue that fine return in the Midlands in midweek.

Cottagers have the edge
Fulham comes into this one having avoided defeat across their last eight meetings with the Baggies. They will look to extend that run against a West Brom side who have failed to win more than half of their home matches this term. That includes all three clashes with sides in the top five, so we think that Fulham will get something from this visit. Our first prediction on this clash is to back Fulham in the Double Chance market.

Meanwhile, the Cottagers already have five 1-1 draws under their belt on the road this season. West Brom has drawn 1-1 at home on four occasions, having drawn with each of the top five sides they’ve met here. With this game likely to be nervy, we are going with a low-scoring affair. A 1-1 draw is our correct svore prediction, having landed in four of the last six encounters between them.
