'World’s most expensive goalkeeper Still he can’t save anything: Darren Bent rants on Kepa

Ex-PL striker Darren Bent can't believe how bad Kepa has been this season.

He speaks of Trent Alexander-Arnold's free-kick last game and says that the goalkeeper should have done better.

Bent adds that he thought Kepa was being unfairly criticised but he can't save anything from distance and that's a major worry.

Former Spurs striker Darren Bent told Football Insider: “Oh my goodness, this goalkeeper. The world’s most expensive goalkeeper and he can’t save anything, literally anything.

“It’s from distance, that’s what I don’t get – if they’re good finishes and they go in the corner, you can understand it.

My dad, to be fair to him, has been saying this for a long time now: ‘He’s not good enough, doesn’t save anything.’

“I was always like: ‘Dad, I think you’re being a bit harsh here,’ but he was like: ‘Darren, I’m telling you, he cannot save anything,’ and obviously he’s proven me wrong.

“Anything that comes in from distance, it’s not like he gets a hand on it, he’s nowhere near it.”

Kepa conceded five goals against Jurgen Klopp’s men on Wednesday night, including long-range strikes from Naby Keita and Trent Alexander-Arnold - statistically, he has been the worst keeper in the Premier League this season.

The Spaniard's ability and form are obvious worries for Frank Lampard, and there's no surprise that it is rumoured the Chelsea board want to replace the goalkeeper as soon as possible.
