Xavi is the 'ideal' candidate to renovate Barcelona claims Rivaldo

Rivaldo point out that the former midfielder  Xavi knows the club incredibly well and could succeed in handling the academy graduates as well.

The ex-Blaugrana says the decision on Xavi's future depends only on the current Al Sadd boss himself.

"I feel he would be the ideal replacement during a time of renovation and transition," Rivaldo told Betfair on Xavi's potential return to Barcelona as their new head coach.

The Brazilian explained: "He knows the club incredibly well and I'm sure he'd handle the academy boys really well."

The ex-Blaugrana concluded: "It depends on him. I don't know if it'll be this summer or in the future, but the decision is in his hands."

Xavi has recently confessed he doesn't rule out taking over at Barcelona straight after the presidential elections in the summer of 2021.

He was approached by the Catalan club before Quique Setien was appointed this January.
