Aberdeen vs NSI Runavik Prediction, Team News and Odds

Aberdeen vs NSI Runavik predictions for Thursday’s Europa League qualifier at the Pittodrie Stadium.

Just over a year after crashing out of the Europa League 3rd qualifying round at the hands of Rijeka, Aberdeen are back in Europe and are expected to fare much better when they face Faroe Islands underdogs NSI Runavik.

NSI crushed Welsh side Barry Town United 5-1 in their preliminary qualifier, but prior to that they were winless in eight Europa League matches and had lost seven of them. In fact, the visitors have never made it past the first qualifying round in the Europa League, and not many are expecting them to buck the trend on Thursday.

Away from home they have lost all 11 of their Europa League games, conceding 37 goals and failing to score on seven occasions. They face an Aberdeen side that have won back-to-back matches domestically and with a much stronger European pedigree that has seen them win three of their last six in the competition.

Things get even more comfortable at the Pittodrie Stadium. Their 2-0 defeat to Rijeka last season was their first Europa League home defeat since 2014, with five wins and six draws being played out since then. Given NSI Runavik’s torrid record in the competition and the fact they have failed to score in seven of their 11 trips away, backing Aberdeen to win to nil looks a good choice.

NSI have conceded exactly two goals in three of their last six Europa League away games and in four of their last nine home and away, so a 2-0 correct score prediction is also a good option.
