Arsenal recognise Aubameyang as there best player for 2019/2020 season

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been awarded the Arsenal Player of the Season award. The 31-year-old has finished first in the online poll at the club's official website.

The forward has claimed an overwhelming 74 per cent of all votes.

While he lost the Golden Boot to Jamie Vardy, the Gabon international nonetheless brought smiles to the faces of Arsenal fans, bagging a brace in the FA Cup final win against Chelsea and giving the supporters something to cheer about.

Not only he scored goals; his strikes brought many points to the Gunners as his goals often changed the game in Arsenal's favour.

He became a skipper in November after Granit Xhaka had been stripped of his armband and carried on well, often motivating his teammates and inspiring them to fight even when things were not going our way.

A perfect example of his leadership is the situation after the FA Cup final, when he came up to crying Emi Martinez to console the shot-stopper, finding the right words for the Argentine.

Bernd Leno made a lot of great saves and was brilliant throughout this season. The German was the only bastion of calmness when the defenders were making silly mistakes. It would not be an exaggeration to say his safe hands were as important as Auba's goals this season.

Bukayo Saka finished third. The 18-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough campaign, becoming one of the most important players at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta's careful guidance. The Anglo-Nigerian has impressed with his on-the-ball skills and versatility. If he continues like this, Bukayo will surely win this award some time in the not-so-distant future.
