Arsene Wenger highlights Barcelona's biggest problem and it not the coach

Quique Setien was sacked after Barca's woeful defeat to Bayern in the Champions League.

Ronald Koeman replaced him in the Camp Nou dugout earlier this week.

Not a manager but the fact their 'exceptional generation is coming to an end' should worry the Catalans the most right now, according to the ex-Arsenal boss.

"I believe the work is more to do than [just] the coach at Barcelona," Arsene Wenger told beIN Sports. "It looks like an exceptional generation is coming to an end.

That will demand very intentional decisions.

"In the last few years, Barcelona on that front did bad. They made many mistakes, spent a lot of money but not many of the players they bought have worked for them."

Barca's current downfall was highlighted in the 8-2 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-final last week.

Quique Setien was sacked after that disaster with Ronald Koeman succeeding him in the Camp Nou dugout.

As for Barca's transfer mistakes, the Catalans have spent around €1bn on new players since 2015 without winning the CL.
