Barca legend Xavi nominated for coach of the season in Qatar

The Catalan coach has the chance to finish the season with three trophies.

Xavi has been nominated for the coach of the season award in Qatar and will compete with Al Rayyan's Diego Aguirre and Al Gharafa's Slavisa Jokanovic, Diario AS report.

This season, Al Sadd have won the Qatar Cup and the Qatar Super Cup under the guidance of their new coach.

However, they finished only third in the league, qualifying for the AFC Champions League play-off round.

Xavi can add another trophy to his collection — the Ooredoo Cup — as his team face Al Ahly in the semi-finals of the competition on August 29.

So far this term, Al Sadd have won 23 matches, drawn four and lost 10; they've scored a total of 86 goals across all competitions.
