Barcelona have oldest squad among Champions League teams

An average of 29.6 years old, Barcelona's squad is the oldest among the eight teams left in the Champions League, Marca report, calling the Catalans 'Europe's veterans'.

The average age of the rest of the teams: Manchester City 28.4, PSG 28.1, Bayern Munich 27.3, Atletico Madrid 26.5, Lyon 25.4, Atalanta 25.3, RB Leipzig 24.6.

When Barca won the UCL in 2015, the average age of the squad was only 26.6.

Seven of the players that started in the final against Juventus still remain regular starters under Quique Setien.

They are: Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba, Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Leo Messi and Luis Suarez.

Barca face Bayern on Friday, August 14 in the UCL quarter-finals.
