Barcelona president Bartomeu rule out Neymar signing this summer

Barcelona president Bartomeu confirms that the club tried to land the Brazilian last summer., however, there won't be any efforts to return him, he states.

"The signing of Neymar, in this situation, isn't feasible. We tried to sign him last year, but we won't try to sign him this summer," Josep Maria Bartomeu told Diario Sport on Saturday.

About a week ago, it was reported that the Brazilian was still waiting for Barca's final decision as Paris Saint-Germain had offered him a new contract. Now it seems that the deal extension is inevitable.

Neymar's estimated price is €128m, as per Transfermarkt. Given that Barca seemingly can't afford the €64m-rated Lautaro Martinez, it's no wonder that the president considers Neymar's comeback impossible.

The 28-year-old made 24 appearances for the Parisians last season, registering 19 goals and 10 assists (per Transfermarkt). The Brazilian also helped his side secure another Coupe de la Ligue by contributing offensively and scoring in the penalty shoot-out.
