Barcelona set reduce salary bill by whopping €100m due to coronavirus crisis

The Catalans would save almost €58m in the annual wages if they part ways with the four players Koeman doesn't count on.

Barcelona are planning to reduce the current salary bill by the whopping €100m, Diario AS claim.

The Catalans have already told Luis Suarez, Ivan Rakitic, Samuel Umtiti and Arturo Vidal to start looking for a new club.

If all these four players leave, the club would save almost €58m gross in the annual wages.

The Uruguayan alone earns €23.4m gross per season.

Barcelona may also ask Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto to re-negotiate their current deals in order to lower their wages, CatRadio reported earlier.

Last week, Josep Maria Bartomeu confessed that the club have already lost €200m because of the coronavirus pandemic.
