Bartomeu defends Barcelona s ageing stars, saying none of them has lost his desire to win.

Bartomeu has made it clear that he does agree when it is said that these group of players who are older than 30 have lost their ambition. They are the best'.

"I don't agree when it is said that these group of players who are older than 30 have lost their ambition," Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu said in an interview with Sport.

"They are the best. They play very well. They train well and try. They have ambition."

The Catalans' squad indeed includes a lot of players who are over 30.

What's more important, the likes of Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique and Luis Suarez each turned 33 this year and let's be fair - Barca don't have equal replacements for the ageing trio.
