Bayern official Rummenigge backs Davies to stop Barcelona Captain Messi on Friday

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge reminds the media that Alphonso Davies hasn't been dribbled past often this season.

The club official is looking forward for the Canadian to stop Leo.

"Alphonso [Davies] played a great season and was deservedly voted young player of the year," Bayern Munich's chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has told Sky.

"If Messi plays on his side, Alphonso will take care of him. It's a difficult but interesting task. Alphonso hasn't been outpaced or dribbled past often this season," he also stated.

Indeed, it's likely that Leo Messi's opponent on the right wing will be Alphonso Davies.

The 19-year-old has had a breakthrough season for the Bundesliga champions, swiftly turning into a regular starter and recording 3 goals and 8 assists, as per Transfermarkt.

The youngster's biggest strengths are his speed (he registered the top speed in the 2019/20 Bundesliga season) and dribbling skills.

Barcelona will face Bayern Munich in Portugal on Friday, August 14.
