Confirmed: Coutinho to return to Barcelona after Champions League campaign

The Bavarians won’t exercise their option to buy the Brazilian on a permanent basis.

Rummenigge insists that Bayern don’t have the finances to make such a ‘huge signing.’

Speaking about Philippe Coutinho’s future at Bayern Munich, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Bild: “Coutinho - as I said, the contract is running out and we cannot and will not make a huge signing.”

The Brazilian will hence be allowed to return back to Barcelona after his loan spell expires, which is most likely after Bayern are done with their Champions League campaign.

Coutinho is said to be in the summer transfer wishlist for Arsenal and Barcelona are keen to get rid off him in the summer - be it on a permanent basis or on loan.
