Goalkeepers and penalties

Should a goalkeeper step of his line during a penalty shot, the spot-kick to be retaken - unless it was saved without the interference of the goalkeeper.

Offside rule

There will be no changes to the offside rule although the assistant referees will now keep their flag down for any goalscoring chances.

Referees to consult pitch-side monitors

Premier League referees will now be advised to consult the pitch-side monitors on a more frequent basis in order to make more subjective decisions.

Player encroachment during penalty kicks

Player encroachment during spot-kicks will not be tolerated. If any player is deemed to be inside the area, the penalty will have to be retaken.
