Fabrizio Romano denies Gianluigi Donnarumma-to-Chelsea transfer story
€50m might be just too much for the Blues, especially if they're looking for a back-up and not for a new No.1.
According to top-tier transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are not in talks with AC Milan over a potential deal for goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The reporter was asked about the rumours by one fan on Twitter to which the reply was quite unequivocal:
Donnarumma to Chelsea?— ً (@havertzcrf) August 28, 2020
It has been claimed that Chelsea, as well as PSG and Real Madrid, are interested in the keeper, with AC Milan looking to start a bidding war starting at €50m.
However, at the moment, it looks like Chelsea are looking for more affordable options, possibly to challenge Kepa and not to replace him as their No.1.
