Livingston vs Hibernian Prediction,Team news and Lineup

Livingston v Hibs predictions for this Scottish Premiership clash on Saturday.

Hibs aim for Europe
Hibernian boosted their hopes of a return to Europe by kicking off the season with a victory over Kilmarnock last weekend. Jack Ross had improved this team throughout the early stages of 2020, while some smart moves in the market has boosted their chances of a top-four finish and a run in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

However, the visitors will need to improve their away form in order to do that, with this weekend taking them to a Livingston side who finished just a place shy of the European spots last term. Can Hibs prove their own ambitions of a top-four finish with a victory in this clash? Our predictions point to them running into old problems.

Livingston’s home comforts
The hosts were beaten at St Mirren in their opener, but they will expect better in their return home. They picked up 28 of their 39 points last season in home matches, winning eight of 14 games. That was the third-best record in the division, while it wasn’t far off the top two.

The hosts also had a defensive record to rival the Old Firm. They shipped just eight goals at home, only beaten by Celtic and Rangers’ tally of seven. Aberdeen had the fourth-best record, which was over double Livingston’s tally.

Hibs shaky on the road
While the visitors have proven their progress so far in 2020, they did end the season with some awful form on their travels. They lost two of their final three trips before the league was halted, while they were beaten 2-0 by the Lions in this fixture last term.

The hosts should be confident after taking five points from three games against Hibs last term, going unbeaten against them. After losing eight of their 15 away trips last season, we see Hibs suffering another defeat here. We’re backing Livingston for the points, while a 2-1 home win is our correct score prediction with Hibs scoring in their last eight league games.
