Manchester United vs FC Copenhagen Prediction, Team news and lineup

Manchester United vs FC Copenhagen predictions ahead of this Europa League quarter-final clash in Cologne on Monday night.

United hunting for silverware
Manchester United and FC KĂžbenhavn have only met twice previously, playing one another in the 2006-07 Champions League group stages – the Red Devils won 3-0 at Old Trafford before losing 1-0 in Copenhagen. 14 years later, the pair are 90 minutes from the semi-finals of the Europa League.

Manchester United are looking to reach only their second European semi-final since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013. The last time they did it – back in 2017 – the Red Devils won the competition. As heavy favourites for this encounter, they should be confident of going all the way once again.

Copenhagen’s English issue
The Danish side’s win over Ferguson’s United was a huge moment for them, but their European adventures against Premier League sides haven’t been great apart from that. In 10 previous attempts, Copenhagen’s only victory against English sides in European competition was against Manchester United in November 2006 (D4 L5). They have failed to score in their last four games against English opponents.

Given that this is Copenhagen’s first-ever European quarter-final appearance, we doubt they’ll suddenly start scoring in this clash with United. The Red Devils have hit their stride since the restart and have looked strong in this competition all season, so our predictions are pointing to a comfortable win for them.

Red Devils to cruise to victory
Copenhagen failed to score at Istanbul Basaksehir in the away leg in the last round, while this trip to Germany could strain their hopes going forward. While United have been praised for their impressive attacking form in recent months – scoring 24 times in their final nine league games – they were also solid at the back. The Red Devils won to nil in each of their final four away league games, so they should head to Germany with confidence.

United have kept a clean sheet in seven of their 10 Europa League matches so far this season, so we see them having too much class for Copenhagen. A win to nil for the Red Devils is our pick, while we’re going for a 2-0 United win as our correct score prediction.
