Messi the heir to Maradona has already surpassed his master: Del Bosque

Del Bosque believes that the Barcelona man has surpassed his fellow countryman Maradona.

The former Spain boss says that Leo Messi is the best player in the world and the best of all time.

He labels the 33-year-old as a player 'from the streets.'

"Leo Messi was a great heir to Maradona and I think he has already surpassed the master. Messi is the best player of all time.

Maybe someone can refute it," former Spain head coach Vicente Del Bosque has told TyC Sports.

"Messi is a player from the neighbourhood, from the streets. He has a vision for the game, dominance and dribbling that is not seen in today's world. He's currently the best player in the world."

It's hard to really compare Maradona and Messi in terms of stats or trophies won. In total, Diego has recorded 310 goals in 590 games. Meanwhile, Barca's captain has got 634 goals in 730 matches.

The only real advantage Maradona has over Leo is that he won the World Cup in 1986.
