Modric to take pay cut with his new contract to help Madrid financially

Luka Modric is willing to lower his salary demands to help Real Madrid cope financially amid talks of a contract extension, according to AS.

The Croatian is ready to adapt to the circumstances and wants to be a solution to Los Blancos’ problems rather than a burden.

Madrid have eyed Martin Odegaard as their long-term replacement for Modric and the transition should be smooth.

But the 33-year-old doesn’t plan on stepping aside for Odegaard and will make him work hard to earn his opportunities.

Modric had a really good season with Los Blancos, scoring 3 goals and assisting 8 in 31 La Liga games to help us win our 34th league title!
