Pirlo and Buffon in contact with Vidal about possible Juventus return

Juventus are making a move for Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal.

The 33-year-old midfielder departed Turin in 2015 to join Bayern Munich, and has more recently spent two seasons with Barcelona.

But after starting in the club's Champions League elimination at the hands of the Bundesliga champions, and enduring a frustrating second campaign in Spain, Vidal appears set to be on the move again during the market.

La Cuarta reports former Juve teammates Andrea Pirlo and Gigi Buffon have contacted the combative star in view of a switch to Serie A.

Both Pirlo, the newly-installed manager at the club, and Buffon made phone calls to tempt their former team-mate into becoming part of the new project at the club.

Vidal is understood to be interested in the idea of returning to Juventus, and Pirlo is likely to have reassured the Chile international that he would hold an integral role in his team.
