Real Madrid reportedly to keep Odegaard for 2020/21

According to a report by Basque outlet Mundo Deportivo Gipuzkoa, Martin Odegaard is expected to return to Real Madrid for 2020/21.

The 21-year-old has done exceedingly well for Real Sociedad on loan and we'd earlier reported that he's wary about a return to the Santiago Bernabeu, given Luka Modric's good form.

Odegaard is understandably keen on a first-team role and now that he is set to return to the club, it'll be interesting to see how the team dynamics shape up.

The report adds that Madrid are intent on having him back following the club's exit from the Champions League.

As things stand, the Whites are unlikely to sign new players as a result of the economic downturn sparked by the Covid-19 crisis.
