Revealed: Madrid financial situation much worse than expected with more pay-cuts possibly

Real Madrid’s financial situation is a lot worse than anticipated with more cut-backs possibly on the horizon, according to Sport.

The club still doesn’t have a final date on when the Santiago Bernabeu remodelling will be complete with no indications on when fans will be allowed back into stadiums.

But the biggest pressing issue is involving their main sponsors Fly Emirates and Adidas, who have told the club they won’t be able to match the annual payments agreed in the contract.

The airline company pays Los Blancos €40m per year and they also receive €110m from Adidas as part of a record deal, but that'll be lowered down this time.

With a lack of gateway income due to games being played in empty stadiums, Madrid might have to implement another 10% pay cut added to the 10% one the squad had taken a few months ago.

Los Blancos have already told their squad that no new signings will be made in the summer as the club desperately looks to sell players to recover some of the losses from last few months.
