Shaqiri feels frustrated at Liverpool - but hopes for more chances next season

Shaqiri feels frustrated after missing out on most of the clashes last term because of injuries or poor form.

However, he's looking forward to the 20/21 campaign as he hopes return to the level he was at during his first season at Liverpool.

The Swiss is still trying to give his best for the benefit of the team - and vows to continue to do so.

"Always if you are injured or if you are not playing, you're frustrated," Shaqiri admitted in an interview with Liverpoolfc.com.

"But I'm looking forward to this season and trying to help the team all the time, so I have the chance to play like the first season.

"As a team, I just want us to achieve a lot of things. I think we have a lot of good players in our team, everyone can play and we try to make it very difficult for the coach as always.

"I'm trying to give my best too and to help the team to win games, titles – that's the most important thing for me."

Xherdan was named among players who might leave Liverpool this summer. The 28-year-old endured a rather discouraging last season indeed - he was reduced to only 11 appearances across all competitions, mostly from the bench.

That was largely because of the numerous injuries he suffered throughout the season. But even when he was fit he didn't seem to be high up in Klopp's pecking order.

Fenerbahce were named among potential suitors. However, if favourable bids don't arrive, the Swiss is likely to stay at Anfield for another season.
