Messi wants to leave Barcelona this summer and PSG, Inter Milan, Man United and Man City have been named as potential destinations for Leo.

Rooney wants to see the 33-year-old in the Premier League as he could be successfull at either Manchester giants.

“I know he’s getting older but he’s a player who no-one has seen before, Man United legend Wayne Rooney told talkSPORT of Lionel Messi.

“Messi has everything – he can create goals, score goals, dictate the game and is the best player of all time.

“He’s one of the only players I’ve sat there and watched and been in awe. Him and Cristiano Ronaldo have set a standard which I don’t think will ever be seen again but, for me, Messi is just different level.”

Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, Man City and United have been linked with making moves for Messi after the 33-year-old asked Barcelona to let him leave Camp Nou on a free transfer this summer earlier this week.

Some MLS clubs have also been named as potential destinations for the Argentine but Leo should come to the Premier League where he can win his 7th Ballon d'Or, according to Rooney.

“The United States shouldn’t be in his mind because he’s too good,” the Englishman added. “He could come to the Premier League and be a Player of the Year. One million per cent.

“If he surrounds himself with Bruno Fernandes or Kevin De Bruyne, he could win a seventh Ballon d’Or.”
