Werder Bremen confirms loan talks with Manchester United for Chong

Chong could have a stint in the Bundesliga next season with Weser Kurier insisting that there are still a few obstacles to overcome for the loan deal to go through.

He also remains tight-lipped about the possibility of the deal having an option to buy.

Speaking on a potential deal to sign Tahith Chong on loan from Man United, Werder Bremen director Weser Kurier said (as quoted by Football Oranje): “The talks have been going well so far. But there are several parties involved and some obstacles still need to be overcome.

“Whether that will work will become clear in the coming days or weeks. I cannot say anything about the likelihood of a transfer.”

Chong’s agent recently revealed that the winger wants a move to the Bundesliga, but it’s unclear so far whether it’ll be a one or two-year loan deal.

The Dutch winger signed a long-term deal with United a few months ago, but needs more playing time to prove himself capable of becoming a regular for the Red Devils.

The youngster gave a bright cameo in the 2-1 win over LASK and could benefit from a move to the Bundesliga, which has given rise to many top young talents – like Jadon Sancho!
