Zidane praise PSG and Lyon performance in UCL despite 'bad talk' about French league
The Madrid boss Zidane is happy to see both clubs making a mark in the elite competition.
"I think it is quite well-deserved, there is no luck in football," Zidane explained.
"For PSG it is already an exceptional course and for Lyon, which is the first time they are in the semi-finals, it is formidable," Zinedine Zidane told AFP.
"It is great for French clubs. There is a little bad talk about the Ligue 1.
"I say it is a great league, a difficult championship and seeing two French clubs go so far in the Champions League is good."
The Real Madrid boss went on to praise Paris Saint-Germain as he added: "[The fact] that they are in the final is easy to explain, because of the team they have.
"It is a homogeneous team, [as] they have been building something for several years.
"Logically, by dint of believing and working, they reach this level today. I think it is quite well-deserved, there is no luck in football.
"The Champions League is a very complicated competition, where you face the best European teams. When you get to the end I attribute it to work."
The Frenchman failed to outsmart Pep Guardiola in a crucial Champions League clash against Manchester City, which led to our exit from the competition.
However, the English outfit have also been knocked out while Bayern Munich did a great job at embarrassing Barcelona. And that's certainly an acceptable way to end our season.
