Barca manager Koeman revealed what he told Messi when time came to sell Suarez

Koeman says that Suarez had to leave because it became 'very difficult' for him to play.

The coach says he didn't have any trouble with the Uruguayan.

When it came to Messi, Koeman told that Luis had to leave because the club decided so.

"Luis Suarez? It had become very difficult for him to play, And I made that known to him honestly. He found that difficult, but I never had any trouble with him at all. He just trained, trained well. In the end, he made the choice to leave," Ronald Koeman has told NOS.

"I told Leo Messi: 'I understand that you are disappointed and think it is a terrible shame that Luis is leaving, but these are choices of the club'."

As a reminder, Suarez joined Atletico Madrid for free ahead of the 2020/21 season. In his farewell message to the Uruguayan, Messi took a jab at Barcelona, saying Luis didn't 'deserve to be thrown away' the way the club did.
