Barcelona brick wall Ter Stegen set to become best-paid goalkeeper in the world after signing whopping new deal

Marc-Andre ter Stegen is set to become the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world, highly reputable Ruben Uria of Goal claims.

Before the coronavirus crisis, the German was asking for the €24m contract.

He has accepted to lower his demands due to economic difficulties, though.

Now, the 28-year-old is expected to sign a new deal worth €18m per year.

The shot-stopper would also become Barca's second-highest earner, only behind Leo Messi.

Uria adds that the agreement hasn't been reached on a new contract but transfer guru Fabrizio Romano earlier confirmed everything is settled and the official announcement will arrive soon.

Ter Stegen has kept 100 clean sheets in 236 for Barca.

He hasn't featured for the club this season because of knee surgery.
