Barcelona contemplating on offloading Dembele and Braithwaite to sign Depay in January

TheCatalans reportedly have already agreed the Dutchman's move but player sales come first.

Barcelona want to sell Ousmane Dembele and Martin Braithwaite in January to fund the signing of Memphis Depay, according to Catalan outlet Sport.

The Dutchman was close to joining the Catalans in the summer transfer window but the Blaugrana failed to offload Dembele.

The report says that Barca have an agreement with Lyon to sign Depay in the winter but they are 'waiting for departures to reduce the wage bill'.

Even though Sport are not the most trustworthy source, such a scenario looks like a likely one.

Ronald Koeman doesn't seem to be a fan of Dembele as he's given the Frenchman just 20 minutes of playing time in three La Liga games this season.

Even if the Catalans fail to sign Memphis in January, the 26-year-old is likely to end up at Camp Nou at the end of the season as his contract at Lyon expires next summer.
