Barcelona new boy Pedri Savage Getafe fitness coach comment: 'I prefer to have a brain to muscle

Getafe fitness coach Javier Vidalbelieves that 'in two years, whoever is not very strong will not play in the top flight'.

Barca's new boy, however, sees football in a more creative way.

Getafe fitness coach Javier Vidal has recently claimed that one won't be able to succeed in football without enough muscle in the following years.

"In two years, whoever is not very strong will not play in the top flight. Thin or skeleton with good technique, you won't see it," he said, as quoted by Sport.

That quote prompted a reaction from Barcelona's new boy Pedri, who doesn't get Vidal's viewpoint at all.

“I don’t see it like that,” the 17-year-old said.

“In football, it’s better to have a brain and think a second before the opponent to get ahead of what they will do. I prefer to have a brain to muscle.”

Pedri moved to Camp Nou from Las Palmas this summer. The midfielder has featured in each of Barca's three La Liga games this season so far.

The Spaniard could be given his debut start for the Catalans in Saturday's clash with Getafe as Ronald Koeman is expected to rest a number of key players after the international break.
