Chelsea defender Rudiger wants Tottenham move, Lampard reluctant to sell to direct rival

The German is set to leave the club before the transfer window closes.

Antonio Rudiger has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea and the German is looking to leave in order to play regular football.

According to The Athletic, the centre-back prefers to join Tottenham with Jose Mourinho giving the green light to a season-long deal for the player.

However, Frank Lampard is reluctant to sanction Rudiger's move to a direct rival with both sides competing for a top-4 finish in the Premier League this season.

Rudiger was allegedly racially abused by Spurs' fans during a game last season but the incident doesn't appear to be putting him off the potential move to North London.
