Former Real Madrid forward Robinho deal with Santos FC terminated in 6 days after joining the club because rape

On October 11, former Real Madrid forward Robinho signed a 5-month deal with his boyhood club Santos.

The 36-year-old agreed on a $229-per-month salary: Santos have suffered from transfer bans, debts and financial difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic over the past few months.

Santos president Marcelo Teixeira even promised to solve the financial problems and offer Robinho a long-term deal after 5 months.

However, on October 17, it was announced that his deal would be terminated by mutual agreement.

That's because of Robinho being accused of raping a woman.

The case doesn't seem to be developing in the Brazilian's favour, so it's quite possible that he'll soon end up in jail.

Robinho played for Real Madrid between 2005 and 2008, scoring 35 goals and making 27 assists, as per Transfermarkt.
