Jovic reacts to Mayoral’s controversial Real Madrid transfer comments: ‘Ask the club, not me’

Borja suggested that Zidane wanted to keep him and sell or loan Jovic, but wasn’t able to do so.

The Serbian striker has refused to express his feelings on this, but hinted that maybe it was possible.

When asked about his thoughts on Borja Mayoral suggesting that Real Madrid wanted to loan Luka Jovic and keep the Spaniard, the Serbian striker told El Chiringuito TV: “I have no comment. Maybe that’s right. Ask the club, don’t ask me.”

Jovic was repeatedly linked to a move away from Madrid in the summer, as it was also reported that Zinedine Zidane himself told the striker to go out on loan to rediscover his clinical touch.

But Mayoral was the one who was loaned to AS Roma instead and the Spaniard has since also apologized for his comments.

As Zidane continues to prefer Karim Benzema as his no.9, Jovic needs to take these recent comments as motivation and turn up his performance levels to earn his gaffer’s trust this season.
